Drawing and Painting class for kids

Calling all young artists (ages 5-7 years old) to pick up their pencils and create!

Participants will be provided with a positive environment that encourages them to make creative drawings and practicing new art techniques.

This four-week program will introduce the participants to two types of art forms including painting with paintbrushes and drawing with markers. Children will also be encouraged to be creative and use their imaginations to reach their full potential. Helping the children to develop a creative mind will truly be beneficial for them in a long run.

Come join us for awesome group activities, games, creative projects, and lots of outdoor fun for grades 1-7. BNH is offering a fun-filled with a safe & reliable summer program that provides all sorts of enjoyable activities. Our Summer preschool program encourages and supports the potential of children through an environment that provides optimal social & emotional growth, while gaining physical and intellectual skills. Feelings of confidence and success are promoted through a wide range of child appropriate activities and opportunities. Each day will include a variety of activities, such as arts & crafts, indoor & outdoor play, group games, cooking & baking, drama, and time for free play.

Summer Foundations of Leadership for Grade 8-9 (In-person)

Through team-based leadership activates, educational field-trips, and ongoing mentorship, the Foundations of Leadership Summer Program will provide youth with the opportunity to connect with peers, have fun, and build foundational skills in leadership. Basic Korean Program (Online)

Anyone wants to learn basic Korean Language? Even if you don’t know how to read and write, we have a class for you to join every Wednesday at 7 pm.

The program is to introduce students to the language, the culture and basic grammatical concepts and to equip them with the skills to communicate at an essential level. These classes are being designed to be interactive and engaging. All ages welcome!

Whether you’re a fan of Korean music, drama and movies, it’d be nice to learn the basic words to understand, so that you can simply enjoy without a subtitle.

Seniors Connections (a telephone-based social program for Burnaby residents 55+) (Online)

Formerly “Seniors Centre Without Walls” – Join our interactive telephone-based program to socialize, learn, laugh and create connections! Seniors Connections is available to seniors living in Burnaby who are experiencing barriers in accessing community resources to stay active and independent. Session topics include Mindfulness & Meditation; Travel; Safety, Privacy and Rights; Explore Burnaby and more! Each session is around 30 minutes long.

Senior’s Conversation Group (Online)

The Senior's Conversation Group is established to help senior’s adjust to the transition of socializing online, especially during this time of COVID19. We are a group of 4-6 participants and are welcoming more members. Each week, the facilitator will bring a topic (past topics have included: setting goals, fun mental health tips, and trivia games). You are welcome to talk about anything from book/ movie recommendations and share your cooking, art, or anything else that comes to mind.

Mother Goose Program (Online)

A fun group experience that introduces parents and their babies & toddlers (aged two and under) to the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs, and stories together. Parents and caregivers gain skills and confidence that enable them to create positive family patterns during their children’s crucial early years. Families will have the opportunity to connect with and support each other in our community. With the same nursery rhymes, story time and a wide variety of kid activities that support your child development, our goal is to make our families feel like they’re right back at our Family Drop-In – but in the comforts of your own home!
