We opened the doors of our new house on January 3rd and love our new space!   Please drop in and have a coffee, tea or just a chat.   You will be welcomed by our staff and volunteers!



Sharing Cultures Dinner

Family Drop-in

Provides an opportunity for families with children aged 0- 5 to socialize and have a safe, fun place to play and learn.  At the same time, we can help you get more parenting information and find out about resources in your neighborhood.  We offer this in two locations;

North House (4908 Hastings Street)                     Tuesdays,  10am-12pm

Brentwood Family Place (4430 Halifax Street)     Wednesdays & Fridays,  9:30-11:30am

Digital Café

Learn basic computer programs, how to surf the internet, create an email or skype account, and type simple texts on your phone. Volunteers will assist you with all your digital questions.  Mondays, 10am-12pm

Line Dancing                                                                              

Have fun sharing and practicing various line dance pieces with new friends in a friendly atmosphere. .

Beginner class –   Everyone welcome.    Thursdays, 11:45am-1:15pm    *Limited spaces.

Intermediate class – Take basic line dance to the next level. Minimal instruction provided.  This class is for experienced line dancers.                          Mondays, 12:15-1:45 pm  Wed 9:30am-12, Thurs 9:30-11:15 am  

 Qi Gong                                                                                                  

Discover some basic concepts of qi (vital life force energy) to enhance your own awareness about energy. Learn gentle movement routines that can add to anyone’s repertoire for health, stress management and fitness.                                                            Mondays 2-3pm

Beginners Yoga Class                                                                                

Come join us for a beginners Yoga class. Certified Yoga teachers who will be practicing Pranayama, Asanas, Kundalini and Meditation. Please bring your own mat. All ages welcome!

Beginners Crochet Corner

Bring your hooks, knitting needles, thread and yarn as you connect with others while knitting and crocheting. Everyone is welcome!                               Thursdays, 12-2:30pm

Community Youth Leadership – open to all youth grades 8-11

The CYL Program has been created to develop the capacity and confidence in young people, equipping them with life-skills to build an understanding of their personal leadership qualities, giving them opportunities to be engaged in their community while making a positive impact.  We will offer workshops, team building exercises, leadership development, personal development, and community engagement activities. The youth participants will gain a specific knowledge about the community’s emerging needs; to take action in their neighbourhoods and schools through hands-on activities and real-life leadership experiences.

Program runs in three seasons:   January–March,  April–June,  Summer TBA,  September–December                 Every Thursday from 3:45 – 6 pm (with the exception of special events)                                                                     Cost: $50 per season or $15 monthly (subsidies available)

Income Tax Clinic

Volunteers will assist individuals with limited income with their income tax returns. If you still need your taxes completed, please call 604-294-5444 to make an appointment.  Cost: $5 donation.

ESL Conversation Group

Volunteer-led ESL classes are available throughout the year for beginner to intermediate level students. Tuesdays, 2:30-4pm (beginner), Wednesdays, 1-3pm (beginner), Fridays, 1-3pm (intermediate)

Employment Services for New Immigrants by ISS of BC

Free help with resume, cover letter writing, interview preparation, job search assistance, career planning resources and referrals. We help naturalized Canadian citizens, temporary foreign workers, provincial nominees, PRs, and those of refugee status. Thursdays, 9:30am-4:30pm. For an appointment call 604-395-8000 (ext 1276).
