Child Care Programs
Burnaby Neighbourhood House (BNH) is a community-based organization that supports families by offering inclusive, high-quality childcare programs across various age groups. BNH provides Three core licensed daycare services that align with the developmental stages of children, from infancy to school age:
- Early Years Daycare (Group Care for Ages 0-5)
- Preschool Program (Ages 3-5, Part-Day) (Not attending kindergarten)
- School Age Childcare (Age 5-12)
BNH childcare services are licensed under the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation, staffed by qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), and rooted in values of Care, Connect, Engage, Belong.
BC Child Care Crisis: An Open Letter to BC’s Next Government
British Columbia's child care sector is now at a critical point where meaningful action is needed and significant challenges can no longer be ignored.
Across the province, waiting lists still stretch years long, especially for children under 3 and school-age kids. The wages and benefits of more than 20,000 educators in BC remain inadequate and inconsistent. Families pay up to $100/day for child care. Government funding is inadequate and needlessly complicated.
Children and families in BC deserve MORE and we, the undersigned child care operators, stand ready to deliver in moving a universal system forward. But, we can't do it alone. We urge BC's next government to expand $10aDay child care and implement a funding model that reflects the true cost of quality care.
