- What documents do I need to bring to register?
The IDs of every family member and proof of address. Staff will also make you register for a membership on the spot, but the fee will be waived. Bring a reusable bag in case you are able to get food on the same day (Wednesday or Thursday).
- What do I need to bring when I pick up my food on a weekly basis?

- I want to donate food. What do I need to know?
We only accept food that have not expired. You can drop it off at our North House Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- How do I register for youth programs?
Through our website in the “Volunteer” section at https://burnabynh.ca/get-involved-volunteer/. Please make sure to click on the “I am under 18” section
- I want to borrow some toys. Does your organization have a Toy Bank?
We do not have one, but the YMCA CCRR has an Early Learning Resource Library. There is an office on the 3rd floor. People can go there or call 604-294-1109 - I want to check if my name has been placed on the waitlist. Who can check?
Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we are unfortunately unable to respond to inquiries regarding where your child is on the waiting list and anticipated enrollment date. Staff will contact you when a spot is available.
- What do BNH outreach workers do?
Outreach workers help families who have children from 0-12 years of age or any new family in connecting them to resources. - What are the eligibility requirements to access the services of your outreach workers?
The only condition is that the family must be a Burnaby resident. Anyone looking for any assistance whether it be free groceries, child daycare, CRA tax applications, etc. can get the contact information of one of our outreach workers.
- I am looking for legal advocates. Can you recommend me to some places?
At BNH, we do not offer legal services, but we can refer you to other organizations that do.
- I am a senior and would like to apply for CPP disability and other programs and services. Who should I contact?
We have Seniors Form-filling Clinic that can assist you with completing certain forms, specifically CPP, OAS, BC Housing Registry, BC Bus Pass, and SAFER. You can contact the staff at seniorsresource@burnabynh.ca - I am disabled, do you offer any services?
BNH doesn’t offer disability-specific services; however, the Disability Alliance BC’s Advocacy Access Program provides support, information, and one-to-one assistance for people with all types of disabilities. To speak with an advocate, you’ll need to book an appointment by calling 604-872-1278 (Lower Mainland), 1-800-663-1278 (toll-free), or by emailing advocacy@dabc.ca.
- I would like to apply for the Better at Home services. What do you offer?
- Meal delivery, grocery shopping delivery, and frozen meals.
- Seniors Transportation** (transport seniors to and from medical appointments)
- Light Housekeeping** - How do I register for the Seniors Transportation or/and Light Housekeeping services?
