Volunteer needed for Community Adult Literacy Program

Post 54 of 334

Want to make a difference in the life of an adult who may find reading & writing difficult?  Have some spare time?

If you’re passionate about literacy and learning, why not become a Community Adult Literacy Program (CALP) volunteer!

Adult volunteers receive a free 12-hour training following which they are paired with adult learners one-on-one who they help improve their Reading/Writing/Numeracy or Digital skills. The program is very flexible where participants meet any day during the week at a time and location convenient to them. Tutors are supported with resources and ample opportunities for PD training.

A very rewarding experience and an opportunity to make a difference in the life of a learner by sharing with them the gift of literacy. Spots are still available for the training sessions coming up soon (Oct 19 & Nov 2), so apply now at literacy@burnabynh.ca or call 604 431 0400!
