Burnaby Neighbourhood House recognized as a finalist and outstanding community organizer for the leadership in BC Diversity & Inclusion Initiative Safe Harbour: Respect for All.
On November 19th, over 80 diversity champions from across B.C. gathered for the fifth annual Safe Harbour: Respect for All Champions’ Breakfast, in order to recognize the Safe Harbour locations and community organizers for their exemplary leadership in creating inclusive and respectful communities.
Following organizations were selected for recognition in 2013:

The Burnaby Neighbourhood House award is a continuation of a series of recognition given to Burnaby, as champion locations in the previous three years were the City of Burnaby, Maywood Community School and the finalist Raj Chouhan’s MLA Office for Burnaby- Edmonds.
The Safe Harbour: Respect for All program is made possible through funding by EmbraceBC. It is nationally organized by Amssa, and locally coordinated by Burnaby Neighbourhood House and Burnaby Family Life. The Program offers workshops and resources for businesses and organizations focused on diversity and building inclusive communities.
